Argentina authorizes grid access and Market entry for Aimogasta Solar I 5 MW photovoltaic plant in La Rioja

ENRE’s formal authorization, issued through Note No. 28256251/2026, approved the access request submitted by transmission company TRANSNOA on behalf of Arauco Solar Aimogasta. This decision follows the public dissemination period established under ENRE Resolution 78/2026, during which no oppositions or alternative proposals were presented. The project connects to the 33 kV AT22 line, which links directly to the 33 kV busbars of the Aimogasta Transformer Station, under the jurisdiction of the La Rioja electricity distributor EDELAR, which will also serve as Additional Provider of the Technical Transport Function (PAFTT). Arauco Solar Aimogasta must comply with technical requirements set by TRANSNOA, EDELAR, and the Market Operator CAMMESA to finalize the connection.

The Aimogasta Solar I plant, located approximately 15 kilometers from the Aimogasta Transformer Station along Provincial Route 9, was previously approved as a Market Agent by the Secretariat of Energy via Resolution 395/2025. The project meets all prescribed operational and communication standards outlined in MEM Procedures and has cleared all environmental impact evaluations by La Rioja’s Environment Secretariat. It integrates 9,500 solar panels and was awarded in the 2023 RenMDI renewable generation auction.

This development is part of a larger renewable energy push in the region, complementing a 64 MWp hybrid solar-wind park also under construction by IMPSA and Parque Eólico Arauco. The hybrid project aims to deliver clean energy to over 35,000 households and significantly reduce carbon emissions. The integration of Aimogasta Solar I into the Argentine grid reinforces the country’s strategic commitment to accelerating renewable capacity and diversifying its energy matrix in line with national climate and industrial policy goals.
