Colombia remains central to Ecoener’s expansion plans. Currently, it operates 87.5 MW in the country and is constructing the 27.2 MW Puerto Wilches solar plant, which will augment capacity further. The company holds an additional 104 MW pipeline under development in Colombia. Ecoener anticipates investing €70 million between 2026 and 2027 to approach 219 MW of installed capacity.
Financially, Ecoener has secured €46 million in local credit facilities from Colombian financial institutions, including Findeter, the government development bank, to support its Colombian projects — Tamarindo 1 and 2, Ardobela 1 and 2, and Puerto Wilches. During construction phases, 720 jobs were created, with 85% filled by local workers, underscoring Ecoener’s commitment to community economic development.
Environmental measures include a biodiversity offset program in Ocaña targeting restoration of 300 hectares of Premontane Tropical Dry Forest. Social initiatives cover installation of solar street lighting near project sites, educational support benefiting 340 children, scholarships for arts education, and solar panel donations for rural electrification, reinforcing Ecoener’s integrated local engagement approach.
