During a rigorous technical evaluation, Senace verified compliance with the Environmental Protection Regulations for Electrical Activities stipulated in Supreme Decree N° 014-2019-EM and the National Environmental Impact Assessment System Regulation (D.S. N° 019-2009-MINAM). The process incorporated active citizen participation through workshops, public hearings, and other engagement mechanisms, following the guidelines set by Ministerial Resolution N° 223-2010-MEM/DM.
The environmental study received favorable technical endorsements from key national bodies including the National Water Authority (ANA), the National Service of Protected Natural Areas (SERNANP), and the National Forestry and Wildlife Service (SERFOR) in their roles as binding technical advisors. Additionally, the Ministries of Agrarian Development and Irrigation and of Culture provided non-binding technical input. Senace’s role as a technically specialized agency affiliated with the Ministry of Environment ensures that large-scale investments undergo thorough environmental scrutiny combined with community involvement, reinforcing sustainable development in Peru’s energy infrastructure. This project forms part of a broader portfolio of recent environmentally approved energy projects stimulating the sector’s sustainability and expansion in the country.
