The project will interconnect at the 13.2 kV busbar of the Monte Chingolo transformer substation, which falls under Edesur’s jurisdiction. Edesur will act as the Additional Provider of Technical Transmission Function (PAFTT), the role distributor companies assume when facilitating third-party generation connections. Official documentation reviewed specifies the 24 MW power rating but omits details on energy capacity in megawatt-hours, discharge duration, and battery chemistry. Investment figures were also not disclosed.
Sullair Argentina previously cleared a key regulatory milestone in mid-September when the Energy Secretariat issued Resolution 243/2026, authorizing the company to enter the Wholesale Electricity Market (MEM) as a Storage Generation Agent for the Chingolo Sull plant. That authorization followed an April 2026 confirmation by CAMMESA that Sullair met all procedural requirements for MEM entry and the seasonal database information standards.
ENReGE’s latest resolution mandates publication of the connection request on both the regulator’s website and CAMMESA’s portal for five business days. A subsequent five-day window allows market participants to submit alternative access projects that might optimize the technical and economic operation of Argentina’s national interconnection system (SADI), or to raise objections based on potential system impacts. If multiple stakeholders file common objections, ENReGE will convene a public hearing. Absent opposition and supported by favorable technical reports already on file, the connection request will automatically be granted and incorporated into the national grid access registry.
The resolution also stipulates that Sullair Argentina must comply with technical requirements specified by Edesur, CAMMESA, and ENReGE’s Public Safety and Environmental Unit. The Energy Secretariat determined that any cost overruns affecting other MEM agents and penalties arising from unavailability linked to the plant’s commissioning will be charged to Sullair Argentina.
