The renewable portfolio under remote control comprises the 296.4 MW Punta Lomitas wind farm in Ica, operational since 2023 as the largest asset in the managed fleet. The 91.7 MW Intipampa solar plant in Moquegua joined the system following capacity expansion completed in February 2026. Additional managed assets include the Duna and Huambos wind facilities in Cajamarca with 36 MW combined, plus the 134 MW Yuncan hydroelectric plant in Pasco and 134 MW Quitaracsa hydroelectric facility in Ancash.
The centralized SCADA architecture enables real-time monitoring and operation from a single location, improving coordination and decision-making efficiency. The platform standardizes data collection across all controlled assets, accelerating deployment of digital tools and artificial intelligence applications designed to optimize asset availability and anticipate operational events. The company indicated this approach enhances contingency response capabilities and overall infrastructure performance.
The system architecture was designed with scalability to accommodate 1,200 MW of renewable capacity by 2030, aligning with planned expansion in both generation and transmission. ENGIE Energia Peru maintains total installed capacity approaching 2,694 MW including thermal and renewable assets distributed across multiple regions. The company received approval in February 2026 for modification of the concession for the Hanaqpampa solar project, a 140 MWac development representing one of the largest planned photovoltaic installations in the region. Parallel development includes the Alpamayo transmission project.
The inauguration ceremony drew participation from French Ambassador to Peru Nathalie Kennedy, COES President Cesar Butron Fernandez, SNMPE Executive Director Angela Grossheim Barrientos, and Peru-France Chamber of Commerce President Ricardo Guevara Bringas. The deployment was implemented according to international standards for remote control centers established by the ENGIE Group’s operational and technology guidelines.
