The 14-project portfolio registered in April 2026 predominantly features solar technology, followed by wind and one biogas initiative, distributed across Buenos Aires, Córdoba, San Juan, Mendoza, Neuquén, Río Negro, Entre Ríos, Corrientes and Chaco provinces. The Renper, established under Resolution 281/2017, validates both projects seeking fiscal benefits and those advancing independently but requiring connection approval to Argentina’s interconnection system (SADI).
In March 2026, Genneia and BID Invest closed the first tranche of financing valued at USD 185 million, part of a framework expandable to USD 320 million. The institutions highlighted a key differentiator in the agreement’s focus on northern Argentina, where BID Invest will provide technical and economic assistance supporting transmission project studies linked to new critical minerals investments, specifically lithium and copper operations.
Separately, Genneia announced construction of the 130 MW San Juan Sur solar park in Sarmiento department with a USD 110 million investment, scheduled for second-half 2026 commissioning. The facility will deploy 250,000 bifacial solar panels across 500 hectares and employ approximately 300 workers during peak construction. Upon operation, San Juan Sur will bring Genneia’s total installed capacity in San Juan province to 350 MW.
The company’s 2022-2026 investment plan totals nearly USD 900 million, encompassing the La Elbita wind farm in Buenos Aires province and solar developments including Sierras de Ullum, Tocota III and San Juan Sur in San Juan, plus Malargüe I, San Rafael and Anchoris in Mendoza. By end-2026, Genneia’s renewable capacity will exceed 1.7 GW, comprising 945 MW wind capacity and 310 MW operational solar capacity, representing 20 percent of Argentina’s total installed renewable power.
