Yamil Haye, CEO of Green Fusion, confirmed the installation represents the first such battery system deployed in an Argentine industrial facility. The integration addresses intermittency challenges inherent to solar and wind generation while providing economic benefits through peak shaving functions that avoid penalties for exceeding contracted demand levels. In Argentina’s context of frequent power outages and voltage fluctuations, the battery guarantees service continuity beyond cost savings.
The solution comprises three components: the SUN2000-150K-MG0 inverter designed for industrial environments, solar carport structures that generate power without consuming productive floor space, and the LUNA2000-215 battery. The platform enables on-grid and off-grid operation, demand peak reduction during high-tariff periods, power stability for sensitive production processes, and scalability as companies expand capacity requirements.
Favio Gastón Rearte, Huawei Digital Power’s PV and BESS business development lead, presented the company’s global track record at the Future Energy Summit Argentina, citing 400 GW of inverters and 15 GW of storage deployed worldwide. Reference projects include the 400 MW Saudi Arabia Red Sea microgrid with 1.3 GWh storage serving one million people, Singapore’s 115 MW/146 MWh Sembcorp system, and Peru’s rural microgrids providing power to 20,000 Amazon River communities while reducing diesel consumption by one ton daily. In Argentina, Huawei previously equipped the Cauchari solar park, a 300 MW installation above 3,000 meters altitude.
Huawei Digital Power operates as a distinct unit from the company’s core telecommunications business, with six years of market presence in Argentina compared to the broader company’s 24-year footprint since 2001. The technology division employs over 10,000 staff across Latin America with 24/7 technical support. Huawei allocates over 50% of earnings to research and development across its 207,000-employee global workforce operating in 170 countries.
