The company is simultaneously advancing the 20 MW Esquina solar park to near-completion status. Civil works, commissioning tests, and grid injection trials have concluded ahead of schedule, with only the connection duct remaining before final commercial authorization. Matías Gómez, SECCO’s commercial manager for power generation, confirmed that civil construction, internal infrastructure, and assembly progressed faster than planned, enabling the Bella Vista authorization and positioning Esquina for imminent grid connection.
Both projects are being developed entirely with SECCO’s own capital, without external financing or public guarantees. The decision to self-fund 27 MW of solar capacity in Corrientes reflects corporate confidence in the province’s energy potential and the viability of independent renewable investment under current market conditions. The self-financing structure also eliminates execution risk tied to credit availability or multilateral funding timelines, a constraint that has delayed other renewable projects in Argentina.
The RenMDI program was designed by CAMMESA to accelerate distributed renewable generation through competitive allocation, but deployment has lagged due to regulatory uncertainty and financing gaps. SECCO’s two awards under the program now provide operational proof points for the framework’s viability. The combined 27 MW adds measurable solar capacity to Corrientes’ grid, which has historically relied on thermal and hydroelectric sources with limited renewable penetration.
The Bella Vista and Esquina parks will feed directly into the provincial electricity system, improving supply diversification and reducing dependence on fossil-fuel dispatch during peak demand periods. The ahead-of-schedule execution at both sites indicates that engineering and procurement were completed without the logistical delays that have affected other renewable construction in northern Argentina. SECCO’s ability to deliver commercial operation at Bella Vista while finalizing Esquina suggests replicable project management practices for future provincial solar deployment.
