Canadian miner Aclara Resources has locked in government-backed Japanese financing to explore ionic clay-hosted heavy rare earth deposits in Brazil, with JOGMEC able to accelerate funding at its discretion and secure future offtake beyond its equity share. The deal validates Aclara’s exploration portfolio through independent technical review while positioning Japan to diversify critical mineral supply outside China. The three-year earn-in period begins immediately, with Aclara operating throughout and four extension scenarios available depending on exploration results.
