The power differential against existing infrastructure is substantial. Current charging equipment in Uruguay typically operates between 60 kW and 120 kW, while the BITAFAL station will deliver more than four times that capacity per connector. The system incorporates intelligent energy management to coordinate vehicle charging demand with solar generation and battery discharge cycles, enabling deployment in locations lacking high grid availability.
Eve-Move currently operates more than 80 charging points and projects exceeding 100 installations in 2026. The company has increased sales of AC chargers below 22 kW while more enterprises evaluate fast charging equipment as a new business line. The BITAFAL project concentrates the company’s most advanced technical development, integrating multiple business verticals including Eve Lab technology to manage power distribution across generation, storage, and charging functions.
Heavy transport and long-distance fleets represent a primary target segment for the ultra-fast charging capability. Vehicles in these categories face operational constraints from charging duration, and the 500 kW delivery capacity removes charger limitations that extend downtime. For fleet operators, the challenge has shifted from equipment installation to infrastructure dimensioning for simultaneous peak demand from multiple vehicles.
The business model is evolving beyond transactional energy sales toward comprehensive service offerings. Charging locations increasingly incorporate amenities such as restrooms, retail, and food service rather than functioning solely as energy dispensing points. Competition between stations will extend beyond kilowatt-hour pricing to encompass the full user experience and ancillary services.
Projects integrating high-power chargers with generation and storage systems require investments significantly above conventional charging equipment. The off-grid configuration with battery buffering allows ultra-fast charging deployment independent of local grid capacity, opening remote corridor locations previously constrained by power availability. Eve-Move plans to apply technical insights from the BITAFAL installation to additional strategic corridor projects.
